Optimus Prime is the leader of the Autobots and one of the protagonists of the Bay films. Long before the great war and the split of the Transformers into Autobots and Decepticons, Optimus was the head of the cybertronic research division that studied the Allspark and was under the protection of the patron Megatron.

After Megatron was taught by The Fallen and together with him eradicated the line of the Primes, which AllSpark wanted to usurp in order to conquer other planets as well, Optimus noticed that he was the last of the line and accepted the post of leader of the Autobots .

He's used the code name 10-22 at times. When he was manipulated by Quintessa, she called him Nemesis Prime.

History [edit | Edit source]

Prehistory Edit source]

Sam Witwicky's great-great-grandfather found Megatron in the ice and accidentally activated his navigation system. Optimus Prime finally received the signal from Bumblebee that he had found the key to the Allspark and a person by the name of Sam Witwicky, which ultimately led Optimus and his rest of the entourage (consisting of Jazz, Ratchet and Ironhide) to land on earth.

Transformers (2007) Edit source]

After Bumblebee sent a signal to the Autobots into space, Optimus Prime landed on earth along with Ratchet, Ironhide and Jazz and scanned for their first old fashion and learned people's languages through the Internet. At a gathering of the Autobots, Optimus revealed to Sam Witwicky and Mikaela Banes the existence of the Transformers and part of their history.

Immediately after his holo-projection, Optimus asked Sam Witwicky about glasses that his great-great-grandfather Archibald wore on his expedition to the Arctic Circle and that Sam tried to sell on eBay. Due to an accident, the wrecked Megatron transferred the coordinates of the Allspark to the glasses of the glasses.

The recovery of the glasses should follow quickly, as Barricade and Frenzy had already led to an exchange of blows on Earth between the two warring factions. When Sector 7 appeared under the direction of Seymour Simmons, Bumblebee was captured by the organization during an attempt to escape by the Autobots, but through the coordinates of the glasses they eventually found Bumblebee and his remaining companions with the Cube, and escorted them to Mission City pursued by the Decepticons. After taking care of one of the pursuers, Optimus fought Megatron in Mission City, but apparently had no chance against the Decepticon leader and suffered several blows from him shortly before Megatron tried to kill his former brother Sam joined the fight to give Optimus the cube so that he could sacrifice himself to kill Megatron and himself, but the fight ended when Sam beheaded Megaron with the energy of the Allspark and destroyed the Allspark, the only one what was left of the Allspark were its splinters.

Transformers - The Revenge Edit source]

Over the next two years, Optimus Prime and the Autobots, including a group of newcomers who responded to Prime's news, became part of a Transformer human military group called NEST, and together they chased the rest of the Decepticons hiding on Earth. After a devastating altercation with Demolishor in Shanghai went wrong, Optimus was thrown onto a freeway and crippled the Decepticon. Demolishor mocked Optimus at the mysterious power known as "The Fallen" that would rise again. Prime made sure Demolishor wouldn't be there to see him when he unceremoniously executed him.

When the Decepticon Ravage stole the sliver of the Allspark from the NEST base in Diego Garcia, Optimus Prime organized a meeting with Sam Witwicky, who had since left home for college. But Sam was only focused on having a normal life for the moment, however, after Sam was kidnapped by the Decepticons and taken to an abandoned industrial complex to be killed by the resurrected Megatron, when the two Autobots Optimus and Bumblebee the Decepticons in the ambushed abandoned industrial complex where Sam was held, and a fight ensued in a nearby forest that Optimus did not survive

Transformers 3 - The dark side of the moon Edit source]

Three years later, the Autobots found information about the Apollo 11 covert lunar mission that allegedly crashed an alien Transformer (the Ark) spaceship on the moon. The two Autobots Optimus and Ratchet therefore flew to the moon to find out. After their lunar journey they returned to Earth with the dead body of Sentinel Prime and its pillars and revived him. Later it turned out that Sentinel Prime was secretly with him Megatron is in cahoots and they want to enslave humanity. The allied humans of the Autobots, blamed Optimus for the crimes of Sentinel and therefore decided to force all Autobots that were on Earth to leave Earth, just as When the Autobots left Earth with the Xantium, the rocket was fired and destroyed by Starscream. Although the Xantium was destroyed, all occupants survived the crash and later fought alongside the humans in the Battle of Chicago. The fight ended as Optimus , Megatron and Sentinel killed.

Transformers 4: Age of Extinction [edit | Edit source]

Five years have passed since Optimus Prime and the Autobots victoriously led the Battle of Chicago, but now a new threat seems to have emerged: Bounty hunter Lockdown and the human organization Cemetery Wind are chasing Autobots and Decepticons with their pieces to bring down new Transformers to build. Optimus was hiding on Earth during this time, as were the other Transformers.

At some point he meets Cade Yeager and his companions, who later help him escape Lockdown and Cemetery Wind. Optimus later arranged a meeting with the other remaining Autobots to discuss how to proceed, so after a long conversation they decided to go to Chicago to go and find the mastermind behind the whole organization. Although the Autobots were close to their goal, Optimus ordered his Autobots to retreat.

When they retreated, they were immediately attacked by the self-made Transformers Galvatron and Stinger. Later Lockdown interfered in the fight and took Optimus with them. When the other Autobots learned that Optimus had been kidnapped by Lockdown, they launched a rescue operation in which they themselves Sneaked into Lockdown's ship and freed Optimus. There was later a battle in Hong Kong in which the Autobots and Decepticons fought for the "seeds." The Autobots were strong, outnumbered because they had the Dinobots as allies.

To protect the earth from further threats, he left earth and traveled through space to find answers.

Mission to Cybertron Edit source]

While Optimus travels through space, he landed on the planet Paradron to refuel Energon, but is disturbed by a Gyronic Guard. Optimus explains that he and the Autobots have been on Earth for the past few years to help humanity from Megatron and to defend the Decepticons, and that he recently left Earth to return to Cybertron and confront its creators.

Sentry is not impressed and asks for a passcode. The gate to the energon has a hidden passcode written in an Old Cybertronic language, but when Optimus tries to use a decoder, the gate does not open. Immediately afterwards there is a fight between Optimus and the guard. Later Optimus wins the decoder and tried again to insert the decoder directly into the door and says the passcode. The door opens and Optimus takes half of the energon and gives the other half to the guard. Optimus tells Sentry that he did a good job, relieves him of his guard duties and flies into space.

Transformers: The Last Knight Edit source]

At some point he fell on Cybertron and met the old goddess "Quintessa". She manipulated him with a brainwashing and he therefore called himself Nemesis Prime, and had the task of finding Merlin's magic wand to use it to restore the energy of the earth ("Unicron" ) to harvest and rebuild Cybertron. When he arrived at his destination, he was stopped by Cade and Bumblebee. Shortly before he wanted to kill Bumblebee, he got his "I" back.

Then he fought together with the other Autobots against Quintessa and the Decepticons, on Cybertron. In the end, he defeated Megatron and Quintessa and took the staff in hand. Shortly before they wanted to leave Earth and go to Cybertron, he said goodbye to Cade and Co.
