Will biometric devices eventually replace credit cards?

TWINT

The short answer - to protect your finances.

For most payments, it will still be sufficient to log into the TWINT app once using a password or biometric data. But for your security, we require further authentication via the UBS Access app for certain payments.

To be able to confirm payments with the Access app, you have to save your payment methods in TWINT with your digital banking contract (Settings> Manage payment methods> Add / update> With "UBS Digital Banking" contract) and activate the Access app. Without the Access app or digital banking contract, you can only make payments within the set limits. With a digital banking contract and Access app, you benefit from higher limits.

Important: For security reasons, you only have 30 seconds for all TWINT payments that you have to approve via the Access app.

Have you already installed the Access app?

Please make sure that the digital banking contract is activated behind the means of payment in the Access app. To do this, open the Access app and go to "Settings". There you can add the corresponding digital banking contract under "Manage access authorizations".

Are you using a credit card from a bank other than UBS?

In this case, you cannot make payments over 500 francs. For a few traders, the transaction limit is below CHF 500 for security reasons. Would you like to increase your limit? You can find all the information you need here.

You don't have an Access app yet?

No problem - simply download the Access app from the App Store or Google Playstore. You can download it here.

Please note, if you have several UBS Digitial Banking contracts, you must set up the Access App for the contract under which the means of payment that you want to use in UBS TWINT run. This is the only way you can use the Access app to confirm TWINT payments.
