Where are Toyota cars made

Toyota starts production in Europe

At the French location in Valenciennes, home of the Yaris small car, production will restart to a limited extent from April 22nd after it was interrupted on March 17th due to the Corona crisis. This is closely linked to production at the Polish locations in Jelcz-Laskowice and Walbrzych, where the engines and transmissions for the Yaris are manufactured.

The resumption of production takes place gradually and with caution: Compared to normal operation, a significantly lower volume is initially produced. The highest priority continues to be the safety and health of employees and all those involved. In the first two weeks, the Valenciennes plant works in one-shift operation instead of the usual three-shift operation.

The decision to resume part of the activities at some European Toyota locations is made taking into account and following the national guidelines and recommendations. Numerous measures are implemented to ensure the safety and health of employees. This includes, for example, protective equipment for employees, maintaining a safe distance and avoiding large gatherings of people.

In Austria, a good two thirds of the domestic Toyota dealerships have already been able to start operations again, where it is possible due to the current government regulations.
